Ensure your visit to Barcelona is especially memorable with events such as the Official Conference Dinner, Welcome Reception and walking tour of the University of Barcelona.


Pre-conference Walking Tour – FREE (Pre-registration is required)

Thursday, 17th September, 2020

Free walking tours of the University of Barcelona, taking in the Historic Building and the Rare Book and Manuscript Library, will be held before the conference. These tours are open to all delegates and are free to attend, however, pre-registration is required. Tickets for this event may be added during the registration process. The University of Barcelona dates back to 1450 CE, when it was founded under the royal prerogative of King Alonso V of Aragon. Visit the Historic Building, the University of Barcelona’s most emblematic site, which stands in the very centre of the city, and the CRAI Rare Book and Manuscript Library, which houses a collection ranking among the largest and most important in the whole of Spain. The tour will include a viewing of some of the illustrated manuscripts held by the library.

Tour Meeting Times & Location*

  • First tour begins at 12.00 (meeting in the main hall at 11.45)
  • Second tour begins at 16.00 (meeting in the main hall at 15.45)

*This tour is provided free of charge. Delegates are responsible for their own transportation to the meeting location and for any costs such as food and drink. Up to 30 places are available on each tour.


Conference Welcome Reception – FREE

Join fellow delegates for a drink or two at the Conference Welcome Reception. This event provides a great opportunity for delegates to network and get to know each other. All registered presenters and audience members are welcome to attend. Admission is included in the conference registration fee.

The official Conference Dinner is held in a private function room at a restaurant near the conference venue, and offers conference participants an excellent chance to enjoy delicious food in a relaxed setting while getting to know each other and making new connections outside the main conference environment. Guests must be aged 14 or over.
